Historia

Fundado por Los Purépechas en 1324, más tarde con la llegada de los Españoles fue establecido de nuevo como municipio colonial, con Don Vasco de Quiroga coronando el pueblo y formalmente estableciendolo el 28 de Septiembre, 1534. Una caminhata por sus calles es pisotear la antiguedad, un ejercico para la imaginación con calles hechas de piedra, las “empedradas” con subidas bordando un cruz, hay pistas por donde caiga su ojo de lo que venía antés. La combinación de arte, naturaleza, y una historía viviente en frente de tus ojos es lo que hace este Pueblo Magico tan especial.
